Treat your pup with some EGG-STRA delicious treats this Easter holiday

In collaboration with our friend Sarah from the delicious Swedish baking blog “Baka med matte” we want to share this Easter recipe with all dog pawrents. Treat your furry friend with some festive and yummy bunny shaped cookies this Easter holiday. Not only do they look cute, but also come with a bunch of health benefits for your pup!

Recipe

  • 1 dl oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp potato flour
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp mashed banana
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

Set the oven at 175 degrees celsius and prepare a baking pan with parchment paper.

Mix oatmeal, potato flour and turmeric. Then stir in the other ingredients and knead into a smooth dough. Keep in mind that turmeric can discolour items, so do not use a new wooden spoon 😉.

Place the dough between two parchment papers and roll out to about a 0.4 cm thick dough. Cut out your Easter bunnies (or any shape you like) and place them on the baking pan.

Bake in the middle of the oven for about 15 minutes.

Let cool and hide them in an Easter egg 🐰🐣

The ingredients and their health benefits:

Oatmeal: Oatmeal is a food with large amounts of fiber and many nutrients, minerals and antioxidants. It also contains vitamin B, which helps the dog’s fur to stay shiny and healthy. It also contains oleic acid and omega 6 fatty acids, which also keep the coat in good condition.

Potato flour: Helps to make the cake fluffy. Completely harmless for dogs and is naturally gluten and grain free.

Turmeric: Turmeric has been shown to have a high anti-inflammatory effect also in dogs and is mainly used to relieve joint problems.

Banana: Contains potassium and fiber and is good for the mental ability and the dog’s digestive system. Feel free to choose a well-ripened banana as ripe bananas are 8 times more effective in strengthening the immune system and are easier for the stomach to digest.

Pumpkin puree: Pumpkin puree is full of fiber and is therefore perfect for the dog’s digestive health. Just be sure to use 100% pure pumpkin puree.

Coconut oil: Coconut oil is packed with natural vital substances that promote your pet’s health. It contains high proportions of bactericidal lauric acid which also strengthens the immune system.
